Driver Commits Suicide In Ondo After Car Owner Collected It From Him

A 33-year-old driver, identified as Abass Olaiya, has committed suicide by hanging himself in the Ore area of Ondo State.
Olaiya, a father of three hanged himself at a panel beater’s workshop at Onisere Motor Park along Benin/ Ore Road.
Olaiya, it was learnt, killed himself because a dealer, who gave him a car on hire purchase, collected the car back because he failed to meet up with payment schedule.
The dealer reportedly collected the car from him on Tuesday and, despite all persuasions by his family members to take heart over the development, he left the house on Wednesday without informing anyone where he was heading to.
His dangling body was later discovered by apprentices at the panel beater’s workshop the following day.
He reportedly told his friends before he committed suicide that his source of  livelihood had been taken away from him and he saw no reason why he was still alive.
He has since been buried according to a family source who said the matter was not reported to the police. The family member said that they had taken solace in God as the death of Abass was as a result of frustration.
