Housewife Stabs Neighbor For Exposing Her Unfaithfulness To Her Husband
A 30-year-old housewife, Adedoyin Adeniyi, has been stabbed in the face by her neighbor, Zainab Fatai, for allegedly exposing her adulterous life to her husband.
The incident occurred at Olu Abiodun street in Ijegun, Lagos where both women reside. Zainab Fatai has also been arrested by the police and charged before a Lagos court for the alleged assault. According to reports, both women were close friends until their relationship collapsed.
It all kicked off when Asis Fatai, Zainab’s husband was told that two of his wife’s children were from two different men by an unnamed person. The aggrieved man confronted his wife over the alleged adultery and even provided evidence given to him by the unnamed person. This apparently infuriated the Ogun state-born Zainab and her first suspect was her friend, Adedoyin.
She suspected that Adedoyin informed her husband that she went to a hotel with her secret lover as according to her, only Adedoyin knew her movement and must have been the one who informed her husband.
She reportedly broke a glass and stabbed Adedoyin in the face and she was badly injured and rushed to a hospital. The matter was reported at Isheri Oshun division and Zainab was arrested and taken to the station.
Even though Adedoyin denied that it was her who informed Asis, Zainab insisted that she was the only neighbour who knew her secrets. Zainab was charged before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Ejigbo on Tuesday with breach of peace, assault occasioning harm under the Criminal Code. She pleaded guilty and begged for leniency. The presiding Magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola ordered her to be remanded in prison custody. The matter was adjourned till 12 December, 2016 for fact and sentence.
